Need dental treatment. Where to go?

I got back from India recently. While in India, I decided to get root canal done. I now feel the dentist in India has done a lousy job as I’m having some pain and sensitive feelings. I want to go to a dentist here but I haven’t been to one before and don’t know a good one. Any recommendations? Preferably around San Jose downtown area.
